Project Overview
This project involved preparing a narrow side-access driveway at a residential property in readiness for a new driveway. The old pavers and garden beds along the strip had to be removed, and the ground cleared and prepped for the next stage.
Our goal was to strip the site back cleanly, remove all unwanted material and leave a clear, workable base for the new driveway.
The Challenge
The driveway ran along a tight strip between the house and the fence, leaving limited room for machinery and material handling. Established shrubs and garden beds lined the edge, and the old pavers and concrete pieces were stacked thick along the bank.
The neighbouring fence, lawn and footpath also had to be protected throughout the job, so everything needed to be handled carefully and kept contained.
The Solution
We laid ground protection mats along the access path to protect the lawn and surrounding areas from machinery. Using our compact excavator, we removed the old pavers, concrete and garden material, and cleared back the shrubs along the edge.
All removed material was stockpiled on tarps, loaded onto our truck and taken to BMI for disposal. The ground was then cut back and tidied to leave a clean, even base ready for the new driveway.
The Result
The site was cleared and prepped with minimal disruption, leaving the client with a clean, open strip ready for the driveway build. The fence, lawn and footpath were left undamaged, and all waste was removed and disposed of properly.
The property now has a well-prepared driveway base, ready for the next stage of construction.
