Project Overview
This project involved preparing the ground around a new covered sports court facility at Heritage Park. After construction, the surrounding areas were left with leftover rubbish and uneven ground that needed to be cleaned up before landscaping.
Our goal was to clear all rubbish, reshape the subgrade and leave a clean, even base ready for topsoil, completed across two days.
The Challenge
The site was scattered with construction debris and loose material around the court edges, structural columns and fencing. The ground had also been churned up during the build, leaving it rough and uneven.
We had to work tightly around the new blue court surface, steel posts and existing drainage without causing any damage, while keeping to a short two-day timeframe.
The Solution
We started by removing all rubbish and unwanted material from around the facility. Using our machinery, we then reshaped the subgrade to consistent levels and falls, working carefully along the court edges and around the columns.
The ground was graded to tie in with the surrounding areas and existing drainage, so water would flow away from the courts. The finished subgrade was trimmed and tidied, ready for topsoil to go straight over the top.
The Result
In just two days, the area around the courts was transformed from a rough, debris-covered site into a clean, shaped base ready for topsoiling. The new court surface and structures were protected throughout.
Heritage Park now has a well-prepared surround that’s ready for the next stage and will give the finished landscaping a solid start.
